Responsibilities

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare plans, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals
  • Prepare, estimates, proposals, and bids
  • Review and negotiate contracts with owner, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Review subcontractor proposals to insure they meet scope, schedule, and skills requirements
  • Responsible for preparing subcontracts and contracts
    Coordination of design and engineering on projects
  • Monitor and report on project’s financial status, schedule, and subcontractors
  • Conflict Resolution with clients and contractors
  • Review and approve payment applications from subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare and submit payment applications to
  • General Contractors and Owners
  • Travel to and review work on site as needed
  • Prepare and review shop drawings and submittals
  • Other duties as assigned

Skill Set

  • Technical skills – including site work estimating –grade cut/fill/volume calculations
  • Engineering skills – blueprint reading – topo
  • Proficient in AutoCAD SolidWorks/Excel Spreadsheet
  • Desire to learn strategy and proactively grow the position
  • Excellent, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative and motivation to succeed
  • Manage and meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines
  • Positive and flexible team attitude
  • Reliable and punctual

Experience

3 years experience in construction -construction management – estimating

Education

BA or Associate-Construction Management preferred

Required travel

Visiting sites, meeting with owners, architects, subcontractors, GC’s, etc.

Based out of home office Lexington, Kentucky

$55,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
